2015 Bordeaux Arrival!
It’s Christmas in July! A large chunk of our Bordeaux 2015 Futures has arrived. The 2015 vintage is another gem from Bordeaux. Set to rival recent vintages like 2009 and 2010, the ’15 are stunners. “Three weeks in Bordeaux tasting the 2015 vintage from barrel has unveiled a clutch of wines so sublime that they are certain to become landmarks for their respective châteaux…not necessarily from the most obvious names” –Robert Parker. Stop in now to peruse our new and improved Bordeaux selections.
Cheese Board
Vacherousse Argental Pure cow’s milk, brie-style cheese made in the Lyon region of France. Its bloomy, white rind is edged in orange and when perfectly ripe, will sink slightly around the perimeter. The flavor is milky with hints of earthiness and the rind not at all bitter. Creamy texture and velvety at its peak ripeness. Pair with a nice dry white wine to cut through the richness. $21.00/lb
Idiazabal A smoky, rich tasting cheese with a light, perforated texture. Classically salty with an understated sheep’s milk tang. Firm but supple texture and buttery, nutty flavor with notable overtones of smoke and balsam. $29.00/lb
Fontina Valle d’Aosta D.O.P. This centuries old Italian cheese is named for the village of Fontinaz and Mont Fontin in the northern Italian region of Val d’Aosta. Semi-firm and aged for the months, Fontina is made from raw cow milk and tastes of alpine grasses with a hint of nuttiness. $25.00/lb

Wine of the Week
Clos Fourtet Saint Emilion ’15
“Clos Fourtet is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty in 2015. Powerful, vivid and wonderfully nuanced, it exudes class. Inky red/purplish stone fruit, lavender, spice, mint and orange peel give the 2015 its myriad shades of nuance, but it is the wine’s balance and total sense of harmony that elevate it to the realm of the profound. In 2015, Clos Fourtet has a bit more body and resonance than is typically the case. Beneath all of the fruit, however, the 2015 has more than enough energy and structural underpinning to drink well for many years. This is a stunning wine from the Cuvelier family and consulting winemakers Stéphane Derenoncourt and Julien Lavenu. The blend is 88% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times.”
97 Pts Vinous $139.00/btl
