Your favorite traditional Italian Christmas breads have arrived for the season! We have three wonderful brands to choose from and lots of different styles and flavors!
Panettone is made during a long process that involves curing the dough, which is acidic, similar to sourdough. The proofing process alone takes several days, giving the cake its distinctive fluffy characteristics. The classic version contains candied orange, citron, and lemon zest, as well as raisins, which are added dry and not soaked. This season we have versions like Classic, Lemon, Orange, Chocolate.
New this year is Pasticceria Perbellini. They have been baking the most amazing Italian cakes and breads in Bovolone, Italy since the 19th century! We bring in the full array of their panettone including their most popular Pandoro. This is a simple yet stunning bread with a golden interior and a beautifully toasted crust. The panettone is made with all natural ingredients and no preservatives. Serve after dinner with soft torrone (Italian style nougat), roasted nuts, dried fruits, and sweet dessert wine. Or for a memorable holiday breakfast, enjoy this panettone gently toasted and smeared with mascarpone or salted butter.
