L’Etivaz “The jewel of the Alps.” Raw milk, light caramel notes, flowers of chamomile and honey with scents of onion and speck. $35.99/lb
Rogue Creamery Caveman Blue A natural rind allows this cheese to release moisture while cave-aging, developing a fudgy, creamy texture with earthy notes of shitake mushroom, sweet golden beets, brown butter, and moderate “blue” flavor. $39.99/lb
Wine of the Week
Foncalieu L’Apogee ’15 “Coming from the limestone portion of Saint Chinian, the 2015 Saint Chinian L’Apogée (Syrah and Grenache aged in 300-liter barrels) is drop dead gorgeous, and possibly one of the wines of the vintage. Offering notions of violets, blueberries, black cherries and toasted bread, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a rounded, layered texture and an undeniable elegance and lightness that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s impressive, and it will benefit from a year or two of bottle age. (April ’17)” (92-95) Pts Wine Advocate $29.99/btl

Mask Up!
Face Masks Required Columbia City Council passed an emergency ordinance requiring the use of a face mask. In a continued effort to provide a safe and healthy environment for staff and customers, The Gourmet Shop will be requiring a face mask for anyone to enter the shop or indoor dining area. (This includes standing in line to pay after eating outdoors.) Please be prepared. Stay safe, wash your hands, and mask up!
