Panettone & Pandoro
The Loison panettone and more importantly — your favorite the Pandoro Christmas cakes have arrived. Our customers seem to prefer this rich, moist cake (without any dried fruits). Select eggs and premium butter serve as the base for this star-shaped cake, and natural rising and gradual cooling help it keep its fragrance and freshness. Come in and we will show you how to turn your cake into a gorgeous centerpiece for all your gatherings. With a knife and a few simple ingredients. For example: Mascarpone or maybe Nutella and a few strawberries. Cover in falling snow…confectioner’s sugar. Make this Italian tradition part of your family’s Christmas celebrations. And it truly makes a perfect gift!
Old St. Nick!
Vietri Everyone’s favorite Santa — Babbo Natale has arrived from Italy with a sleigh full of new designs. Alessandro relays the stories through his whimsical designs, providing us a glimpse into Old St. Nick’s daily adventures leading up to preparations for each holiday season. Wine of the Week
Guigal Gigondas ’18
“I was told the sample of the 2018 Gigondas represented about 80% of the final blend, so a lot could still change from here to bottling. That said, what I tasted showed intricate notes of garrigue, raspberries and pomegranate, much like previous vintages. Full-bodied and plush, with a long, silky finish, it should be another winner.”

Wine Collectors’ Corner
Jean-Louis Chave L’Ermitage ’18 “As virtually all of the various components of Chave’s 2018 Hermitage were still separate, I’ve given a rating that reflects the variability I saw when tasting through the barrels and made a guess regarding Jean-Louis’s blending sensibilities and available volumes. For example, the Péléat (92 – 94), a pretty, red-fruited element could add freshness but is likely to be a small portion of the blend (if it’s even included). More impressive were the lush, mouthfilling Les Beaumes (95 -97) and stony, elegant Le Méal (94 – 96). Lots from L’Ermite (98 – 100) and Les Bessards (98 – 100) will likely make up the bulk of the blend, oozing with liquid stone, intense blueberry and cassis fruit, and possessing firm yet ripe structures.” (97-100) Pts Wine Advocate $299.99/btl
