L’Epicurien As we celebrate American cheese month. Take a cue from the French to upgrade your cheese board. L’Épicurien, run by master jam maker Bernard Le Gulvout, combines quality fruit, traditional methods and creativity to make amazing jams, confits and chutneys. The majority of L”EPICURIEN confits are prepared specifically for pairing with cheese. A new shipment just arrived into the shop. The Fig & Walnut Confit is the perfect pairing for goat cheese. The rich ‘figgy” flavor with a drier goat cheese just works. You will enjoy the walnut slivers that you crunch from time to time while savoring this confit. Try it on a toasted baguette.

Wine of the Week
Chateau Meyney Saint-Estephe ’17
“The 2017 Meyney is building upon its promising showing after bottling. It has a polished, well-defined bouquet of blackberry, cedar, mint and damp clay/potter’s wheel, perhaps demonstrating even more precision than a few months ago. The palate displays very fine tannins and a good grip on the clove-tinged finish. A judiciously spiced and impressively proportioned Saint-Estephe; a decade ago, under the same growing conditions, Meyney would not have produced a wine nearly as good as this 2017. Drink 2024-2040.”
